Was Vincent Kompany`s red card today against Man UTD truly unjustified?

I watched the game and thought that Kompany's sending off was totally over the top. It should have been a yellow card at the most. What annoyed me most of all was that about 15 minutes later there was a similar tackle by a United player on a city player and nothing was done.(Think it was Evra, but not sure).

In my opinion the ref got it wrong with his red card. City played really well to pull back two goals. It's the same in the SPL.

I think in cup games, there should be some sort of camera technology to replay the action before the referees make rash decisions that affect a teams chance of a shot at the cup.

Perfectly acceptable red card, it's good to see a refferee stand up to the big clubs. Lunging takles, or those that are two footed, or show the studs are red card offences, Kompany's takle was all three.

Totally unfair. However so bad the player maybe, his tackle didn't even warrant a yellow card. Had the game been fair, City would have torn United apart.

Really disappointed. However, the red card made the game more balanced in all honesty. Had he not been carded, the game would have been a City show only.

Lucky Ynited I must say.

Probably not, but I've seen him get away with far worse, so I guess what goes around comes around. He is far too aggressive for my liking and some players have been lucky not to be badly injured by him. Ref didn't have a great day overall but foreign ones are far worse, every touch is a foul.

Kompany has a habit of going in two footed so I would expect most refs are watching very astutely every challenge he makes from now onwards. While it did seem harsh for him to be given a red it was a two footed, scissor type challenge and therefore if such a challenge is outlawed in the rules of the game then he had to go.

However there were a number of other challenges in that game which should have been dealt with more harshly if that set a precedent.

I think it was a yellow card. Kompany's right foot only hit Nani, and Nani didn't even protest against the tackle. Rooney's protest made the referee show him red card.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
